Schools may contract with the Center to provide one service or an array of services. Department of Education users may contract with the Center to provide either Prevention and Intervention Services, or Early Childhood Professional Development Services. These are elaborated in the special section for Department of Education users.

The Classroom Consultation Model

This model focuses on helping teachers and school-based clinicians work together to address the social/emotional needs of children in the classroom. The approach used enables children to use symbolic processess to express concerns and difficult feelings instead of acting them out.

The Teacher-Focused Mental Health Model

This model provides on-site groups for teachers as a way of coping with the stresses of classroom life. The groups offer teachers a voice for their experience, can help to prevent burn-out, and often enhance staff empathy for needy children and needy peers. Often, a combination of service models is implemented within a school, district, or program.
