On October 10, 2012, Adrienne King, Associate Director of Financial Aid at Bank Street College of Education, was awarded a New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association (NYSFAAA) Regional Award for Region VI. Region VI comprises the five boroughs of New York City. The purpose of the Regional Award is to recognize individuals selected by the regions who have provided a significant contribution for the Association at the regional level. NYSFAAA is comprised of eight regions (Manhattan area, Hudson Valley, Rochester, Central New York, Buffalo, Capitol aka Albany area, Long Island & Adirondack Area).
At the awards ceremony, the presenter noted, "Adrienne has participated and assisted at many NYSFAAA Region VI meetings and events. No matter what the event, from Tri-Regional meetings, Holiday Meetings, Summer Meetings, FAFS workshops, High School Counselor Workshops, or College Goal Sunday, Adrienne is there either behind the scenes or in the forefront. She has participated as a trainer at Novice Training, is currently the Chair of the Membership Committee, and has worked with NYSFAAA Conference Committee in various capacities for past NYSFAAA Conferences. In addition to her support of NYSFAAA, Adrienne can also be found advancing the cause of college access for her community in Harlem and beyond through her volunteer work at high schools, community events, college fairs, and more."
