The Garden of Time
Rabbi Jill Hammer is the director of spiritual education at the Academy for Jewish Religion in Yonkers, New York. She is also the author of a wonderful new children's book called The Garden of Time.
Jill shares her story at Bank Street Bookstore on Sunday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m.—her favorite place to buy books since she is a resident of the Upper West Side.
Enjoy a quiet, soothing story as a wonderful way to start your Sunday morning.
The Garden of Time is based on an ancient Jewish legend featuring Adam and Eve as they follow a path through the Garden of Eden. While taking their journey, they begin to understand the seasons of the calendar, choosing holidays to celebrate depending on what they see, hear, and notice.
Jill's book is especially appropriate as families participate in Earth Day festivities throughout the month of April. The book is centered on nature and the natural world we all appreciate and respect.
