Ways of Giving
Cash: Please make a check payable to Bank Street College of Education. For specific designations (ie School for Children, Family Center, Graduate School, Liberty Leads etc.), please note in the memo line of your check.
Securities: Many donors may realize substantial tax advantages by transferring gifts of appreciated stock. Capital gains on the amount of appreciation are avoided, and the donor receives a tax deduction for the stock's full market value.
Life Insurance: There are many ways to use a life insurance policy to make a gift to Bank Street. Please contact Barbara Morgan at 212-961-3328 or by email at bpm@bankstreet.edu.
Residences and Real Estate: Gifts of residences and real estate allow the donor to avoid capital gains tax, realize a tax deduction and retain occupancy if desired. Please contact Barbara Morgan at 212-961-3328 or by email at bpm@bankstreet.edu.
Other Property: Gifts of tangible property may result in an immediate tax deduction for the donor. Please contact Janet Diminich at 212-961-3325 or by email at jdiminich@bankstreet.edu for further information.
Matching Gift: If you or your spouse works for a company that makes corporate matching gifts, your contribution can be doubled or tripled. Please contact your Human Resources Department for information.
Planned Gifts and Bequests: Many donors discover that they can make a substantial gift to Bank Street through deferred giving. Deferred gifts are trust funds from which the income may be paid to the donor during his or her lifetime, with the principal going to Bank Street after the donor's death. Donors may enjoy full tax benefits for such contributions, enhancing their own financial situation even as they make a lasting contribution to Bank Street. Bequests, expressed either as a specific amount or as a percentage of an estate, are always welcome and may count toward The Campaign for Bank Street in certain situations. The Development Office can provide details about the many forms that a planned gift may take and the tax advantages associated with each.
Honoring someone special: A gift to Bank Street in honor of a student, teacher or advisor is a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion. Bank Street would be honored to take part in your special celebration.
Gifts may also be made in memory of a friend or loved one.
Bank Street College is a 501 c(3) organization and its fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30th.
