Education-Related Master's Degree Programs

 

Literacy Specialist

This non-certification program is designed for individuals who want to become literacy specialists in clinics, private practice, or other professional environments.

 

Social Work and Infant & Family Development

This non-certification program that leads to a MSEd in Education and an MSW in Social Work.

These programs are for students who have a prior certification in general education and wish to work with students with disabilities and move into a Social Work setting. 

 

Museum Education and Leadership

This non-certification program is for those who want to be a museum educator knowledgeable about children and schools.

This non-certification program in administration is for professionals in museums or other cultural institutions.

 

Child Life

This program is designed to prepare students for careers as Child Life Specialists in both hospital and community health care environments. Professional certification is granted by Child Life Council.

 

Community Development & Individual Study

This program is a non-certification program for those teaching or leading after-school or youth development programs, or in other community-based organizations.

This program is a non-certification program for those seeking to create an individual master's program across a range of programs or in one area of particular interest.

 

Note: Many graduate programs include three components: course work; supervised fieldwork and advisement; and an Integrative Master's Project (IMP). There are four academic terms: Fall, Spring, Summer 1, and Summer 2.
