Healthy New York is a federal program designed for uninsured working individuals. Visit the Healthy New York Web site for more specific information regarding eligibility and fees.
Are there any mental health services provided through Bank Street?
The first thing you may want to do if you are troubled is talk to your advisor or another faculty or staff member whom you trust. The Bank Street faculty is especially good at working with students in this capacity. They are also able to refer students for a one-time mental health consult. Please let someone know if you need help.
Outside of Bank Street, you can connect to the HELP Line; if you need to talk to someone at a moment's notice, call this service at 212-532-2400. Another service is LifeNet, which is operated by the Mental Health Association of New York City in partnership with the New York City Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services. Both 800-LIFENET and 877-AYUDESE are toll-free and confidential, and have access to the City's largest database of mental health, substance abuse, and crisis services.
The New York City government Web site is an excellent resource for Domestic Violence Services. Another informative site is the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.

There are free and confidential HIV testing locations all over New York City; we have provided a list of clinics. For other confidential and anonymous testing sites in the New York City area, call 800-TALK-HIV, a service of the New York City Department of Health; they can also connect you with the NYC AIDS Hotline, which can provide the location of the testing site nearest you, as well as answer any questions you might have about the testing procedure.
