Matriculated students register for classes via the College's web registration system (http://my.bankstreet.edu) during the official web registration period prior to each term. Matriculated students will be notified via e-mail and letter of their specific appointment time to register within the official web registration period. Web appointments are generated by proximity to graduation -- those students closest to graduating receive the earliest appointments.
Fall 2010 Web Registration will take place: June 11th to June 22nd.
Detailed web registration instructions are available after you have logged in to http://my.bankstreet.edu.
All matriculated students are encouraged to meet with their program director or advisor, by appointment, prior to registration, to discuss course and schedule choices. Students must be given academic clearance on the web by their Advisor or Program Director in order to register for a new term.
Outstanding debts to the College or books/fines owed to the Library must be cleared before students are permitted to register.
New students who have yet to matriculate and are registering for the first time must register in person at the College. Newly admitted students will be sent invitations to register on the day of in-person registration, scheduled prior to each term (see the Academic Calendar for this date).
Nonmatriculated students must also register in person at the College. Nonmatriculated students register on the day of In-Person Registration, scheduled prior to each term (see the Academic Calendar for this date). Faculty and staff will be available to discuss course options suited to individuals' interests and needs.
In-person Registration for new students: Wednesday, September 1
In-person Registration for nonmatriculated students: Wednesday, September 1.
The hours on September 1 will be:
4:00 - 4:45 pm - Matriculated students who missed Web registration
4:45 - 5:45 pm - Newly Matriculating students starting at Bank Street
5:45 - 6:30 pm - Nonmatriculated students
Add/Drop and Late Registration for the Fall term will begin on the first day of Fall classes, September 13.
It will take place in the Registrar's Office during the following hours:
September 13: 1-6 pm
September 14: 1-6 pm
It will continue in the afternoons between 3 - 5 pm from September 15 - September 23.
Please see the Add/Drop & Late Registration Schedule & Refund Dates.
Adding Courses: Students must come to the Registrar's Office in person to fill out the necessary paperwork to register or add a course. The office hours for Add/Drop and Late Registration are listed above. After a class has met twice, registration for that class is closed. For one credit classes, no registration can take place after the class has met once.
Dropping Courses: In order to drop a class from your record and receive a full tuition refund, a class must be dropped officially at the Registrar's Office prior to its second meeting. Once a class has met twice, students will be responsible for a portion of the tuition. Please see The Add/Drop & Late Registration Schedule & Refund Dates for the breakdown.
Withdrawing From a Course: Once the drop/add period has ended, students will no longer be able to drop their courses. Students will have the option of requesting a grade of Withdrawal (WD) from a course by the midpoint of the term. The course stays on the student's record with a grade of Withdrawal (WD). A student may or may not be entitled to a partial refund. Please see The Add/Drop & Late Registration Schedule & Refund Dates for the breakdown. Students must come to the Registrar's Office to fill out the Request For Grade of Withdrawal (WD) Form by the set deadline. The last day for students to file for a grade of withdrawal (WD) for the: Fall 2010 term is Friday, October 29.
Consequently, students who stop attending a class and who do not officially request a grade of WD through the Registrar's Office by the above date will receive a grade of No Pass (NP).
The same procedures and forms are used to drop Supervised Fieldwork/Advisement.
PLEASE NOTE: Students receiving loans, grants, or financial aid should check with the Financial Aid Office before dropping or withdrawing from courses, since a reduced credit load may affect a student's eligibility for loans, grants, or financial aid.
