The International Conference on Teacher Research is a small conference that occurs annually before or after AERA and is attended by educators interested in practitioner research.
Mission Statement of ICTR:
To improve the learning opportunities of all children through the growth of individual teachers conducting studies in their classrooms.
Theme for the 2008 conference at Bank Street College in NYC on March 28 & 29:
Combining Voices: Building a Teacher Research Community
Purpose: To activate and extend the voices of teacher researchers and their students through the support of professional organizations, publishers, school systems, teacher networks, unions, universities, and other organizations.
Goals:
The 2008 International Conference on Teacher Research begins on Friday, March 28, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and continues on Saturday, March 29, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Conference registration includes keynote addresses, general sessions, panel discussion, Friday evening reception, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and tea/ coffee break.

Early Registration: $130, extended to March 15, 2008
Regular Registration: $150, from March 1, 2008

Please note: We can accommodate only 200 people, so please register as soon as possible. There will be a waiting list begun once the maximum number is reached. Our cancellation policy is that ICTR will refund registration by 100% before February 21, 75% before March 7, and 50% before March 12, 2008.

Location of Bank Street College: The conference will be held in the main building, which is at 610 West 112th Street (red star on the map), between Broadway and Riverside Drive in Manhattan. It is conveniently located near subway lines, bus routes, and major roads.
Subway: Take the #1 train to West 110th Street/Cathedral Parkway and walk north 2 blocks on Broadway. Turn left onto West 112th Street and you will find the College around the corner.
Bus: Take the M4 or the M104 to West 113th Street and Broadway, or the M5 to Riverside Drive and West 112th Street. Walk to 610 West 112th Street.
Car: If coming from the south, take the Henry Hudson Parkway (9A) to the 96th Street exit. If coming from the north, exit at 125th Street. Drive east to Broadway and then to West 112th Street to a garage at 512 West 112th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. Walk west to 610 West 112th Street.
