How to use MavisBeacon
MavisBeacon Teaches Typing is an application used in the School for Children that helps students develop typing skills. It is currently installed in the Clevel computer lab.
1. You must login to the network to access the Mavis Beacon application so that the work you do in MavisBeacon is properly tracked.
While in Finder, click on the GO menu and select CONNECT TO SERVER
Choose BNKDATA1.BANKSTREET.EDU and click CONNECT
When prompted for a username and password, use the following information and click CONNECT:
Username: MavisBeacon
Password: 123456
This will bring up a window where you will choose the volume to mount. Choose BNKDATA1.APP and click OK.
When you see the MavisBeacon folder,
You can then start the MavisBeacon application found on the dock.
2. MavisBeacon distorts the video graphics of the computer. Please be sure to restart the computer when you are finished, so that the computer is functional for the next student.
While in Finder, click on the APPLE menu and select RESTART.
