Where is the Digital MultiMedia Lab Located?
The Digital Multimedia Lab is a specialized lab to support MultiMedia projects and is located on the 7th Floor in Room 701.
The Lab is supervised from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM during which time you can borrow equipment and receive assistance with your projects from our CIS Staff. It will remain open until 9:00 PM, where computer use is available, but there will be no project assistance or equipment signout.
What computers and hardware are in the labs?
The MultiMedia lab was upgraded in the Summer of 2006 to high end intel based iMac 17-inch flat panel computers. Each machine has 2 GB memory, 250 GB hard drives, and a CDRW/DVD-R combo drive. There are portable scanners to use in the lab to scan in pictures or other multimedia documents. There is also a projector and screen that can be used to display presentations and other materials.
In addition, there are dubbing stations that can be used to make copies of products created in the multimedia lab. It can also be used to edit tapes. Supported formats are: Digital Video Cassette, VHS tape, and 8mm Hi-8 tape.
It is important to note this lab is for MultiMedia use and priority to these applications should be given to students and staff using the lab. Therefore, use of word processing, checking Email, and we surfing should be reserved for the PC and Mac Labs on the first floor.

If you are interested in finding a specific piece of software, please check with the Helpdesk to find out if Bank Street has the application and where it is installed in the College.
If there is software not listed that you would like to use in your class, please contact the Help Desk and we will work with you on purchasing and installation.
Can I connect to the Bank Street Network from these machines?
Yes. With OSX, you can go to the "GO" menu and select "Connect to Server." From there, type in bnkdata1.bankstreet.edu and login to the network. You will be able to access all your personal and shared files on the network.
How can I reserve the lab for a class?
You can check if the lab is reserved on daisy.bankstreet.edu. Labs can be reserved Monday - Friday from 9AM - 3PM by Emailing mmlab@bankstreet.edu. The lab is reserved for student drop-ins from 3PM - 6PM and can not be reserved during that time.
How can I get help using the applications in the lab?
There is a great deal of applications documentation available on the Helpdesk Website. In addition, there is paper documentation available in the lab documentation stand.
If you require assistance, you can come next door to room 703 and ask for assistance from the Helpdesk. In addition, you can borrow equipment from the Help Desk such as floppies, zip drives, usb and firewire cables, video cables, headphones and more if you have a valid ID.
When are the BEST times to use the labs?
The labs are often not busy in the morning.
