Multimedia Lab Policies and Procedures

The MM Lab's principal function is to provide a venue for training in and authoring of multimedia educational materials.  Multimedia applications are those that create, capture, edit, and display analog and digital audio and video files.

Priority will be given to reservation requests for the Lab for classes that will focus on MM applications.  Requests for use of the Lab should be made through Kadine Kennedy at extension 4502 or via email at mmlab@bankstreet.edu

The MM Lab will be reserved for independent student/faculty authoring from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM daily.

Priority of lab machines are to be given to course related projects.  This is not a drop in lab for word processing, email, or other non-related agenda.

All of the MM workstations have video and audio editing capability.

A variety of auxiliary equipment (headphones, floppy drives, tape drives, Firewire cables, etc) is available for use with the MM workstations and must be signed out from the Helpdesk, room 703, for the period of use.  A valid Bank Street ID will be required at the time of sign out.

A scanner is attached to several of the workstations and is available for the capture of printed images and text.  On that workstation, priority is to be given to those applications.

Use of the Color Printer is limited to one copy of exemplary project materials.  The printer should not be used for printing word processing documents, email, or other non-related agenda.

At periods of peak demand, a time limit of two hours may be imposed on users of the Lab.

Absolutely NO eating or drinking is allowed in the lab.  If found with food or drink in the lab, you will  be asked to leave.
