Position Vacancy - Adjunct Instructor


Adjunct Instructor needed to teach course EDUC 530 Foundations of Modern Education during the Summer 2 session June 27-July 25, 2008. Course meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-9PM.


Responsibilities

Plan and teach Foundations of Modern Education, for eight sessions that meet for 3.5 hours twice weekly. This course examines the historical, philosophical and cultural roots of contemporary education, including Bank Street's history and philosophy, the contributions of major educational leaders, and current practices and innovations in education. The course is designed to help teachers expand and deepen their understanding of the social, political, and economic forces that influence the work of educators and children and their families.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Bank Street College and progressive education
  • Experience teaching adults and evaluating their work
  • Masters degree required, doctorate preferred


Start Date:          Summer 2 Session, June 27 - July 5, 2008

Salary:                  Adjunct Rate
