Position Vacancy - Chief Budget Officer/ Financial Analyst,
                              Office of Vice President of Finance and Administration

                 
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the incumbent will provide assistance or independently manage a variety of financial and budgeting projects for the overall college. Will also assist with the preparation of the divisional budgets as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and provides oversight to the College budget.
  • Coordinates the college wide budget process including budget policies and procedures, developing and managing the annual operating budget which includes training appropriate staff about the budgeting components of the College's financial systems.
  • Prepares all budget materials for the quarterly Finance Committee and Board Meetings.
  • Responsible for monitoring the capital budgets for the College.
  • Assists the Vice President of Finance in preparing financial analyses as required.
  • Reviews budget preparation forms for proposed and approved grants and contracts.
  • Prepares the annual overhead rate for external grants.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of the "Data Book" and coordinating the preparation of external reporting as required, (IPEDS, 990 and Bond Holders).
  • Prepares payment authorizations for the General Institutional accounts.
  • All other duties as requested.


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three (3) years experience in budgeting and administrative functions. Knowledge of auditing process helpful.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - CPA, CFP a plus.
Computer Skills - Microsoft Office suite including advance knowledge of Excel and Word. CARS knowledge a plus. Previous work experience with college or university budgets a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities - In the absence of the Vice President, will provide limited supervision to the budget and finance office and support staff.
Language Skills - Must possess good oral and written communication skills and able to work with a variety of College staff and constituents. Ability to express ideas effectively and concisely.
