  • Blue Lakes Fine Arts Camp
    • Blue Lake caters to students with an interest in music, art, dance, and theater. Students' mornings are filled with classes and rehearsals. After lunch, students have a break for rest, recreation, an elective course, or individual practice. Afternoon classes and rehearsals end around 4:30 pm. Evening activities include arts performances or camp fun.

      Program Dates: 4 camp sessions June-August
      Duration of Program: 2 weeks.
      Cost: $835+$150 application fee (includes room and board)

  • Center for Creative Youth at Wesleyan University
    • The Center for Creative Youth (CCY), a program of the Capitol Region Education Council, will hold its 30th annual summer residency in 2006 offering talented high school students five weeks of intensive study on the campus of Wesleyan University, one of the country?s most distinguished liberal arts colleges. Classes meet daily in 10 art disciplines. Morning classes allow students to major in one chosen art form. Classes in interdisciplinary arts subjects complement the morning program.

  • Developing Artists
    • Students will engage in exploring monologues and/or scenes. Through guided writing exercises, they will explore their own theatrical voice. Student?s creations will then be woven together into a final presentation for family/friends. Summer show runs 2 weeks for the general public. It provides the cast a chance to supplement his/her training by experiencing the process of producing a full production.

  • Oswego Summer Theatre Camp
    • Oswego State Summer Theatre Institute offers an intense two-week study program in theater. Participants earn three hours of easily transferable college credit. The campus is located on the scenic shores of Lake Ontario in the friendly city of Oswego. A supervised, residential option is available in order to provide students a total college experience.

      The Summer Theatre Institute offers workshops in acting, voice and speech, movement, improvisation, auditioning techniques, and unarmed stage combat. Participants take a weekend field trip to the Shaw Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, where they attend several stage productions.

    • Teens, 13-18 years old, explore the arts in a university setting in downtown Manhattan. They may choose from one or more of the following programs: Visual Arts, Filmmaking, Performance Arts, Journalism, Screenwriting

  • Theatre Arts Center
    • A unique professional experience for talented singers, dancers and actors, this program is a four-week intensive of classes, rehearsals, and performance. There are three musical theater companies cast by age and ability. Each student will work with a Broadway guest star as they stage songs and dances from the world of musical theatre. The workshop also includes classes with Theatre Arts Professionals in acting, musical theatre, voice, dance, improve, on-camera, and other performing arts.

  • Wingspan Arts
    • This not-for-profit organization is a provider of innovative, high-quality arts outreach programs for school-aged children. Provides high quality, affordable performing/visual arts facilities and services to artists and producers working in a variety of disciplines. Develop and offer arts education services, training, workshops and other programs for students and teaching professionals in underserved communities. Connect diverse groups, especially young audiences, to all forms of the performing, visual and literary arts.

      The Wingspan Players: Theater (Grades: 6-12)
      This intensive program is designed for students with a genuine interest in developing their creativity. Led by professional directors and choreographers, teamwork, discipline, and fun are emphasized during the six-week session. Each student will audition, rehearse, and perform a character in one of the two productions, and be actively involved in the creation of sets and costumes. The program culminates in a weekend of performances of both productions in a fully equipped theatre before a live audience!
