- J-Camp: Texas Christian University
- J-Camp will bring together a multicultural group of high school students for six days of intensive journalism training. Students will spend time with professional journalists and get hands-on training in writing, photography, and broadcasting. Sessions and workshops will be led by experienced journalists from some of the leading media companies in the industry.

- NYU Urban Journalism Workshop
- The Urban Journalism Workshop at New York University's College of Arts and Science is designed to encourage minority students to consider a career in journalism. Minority high school juniors and seniors from the metropolitan area will be selected to spend 10 days attending an intensive, rigorous course in journalism at New York University in Washington Square.

- Sarah Lawrence College Summer Writer's Workshop
- This program is a unique collaboration between writers and other artists. Directed by distinguished faculty members, the program gives high school students the experience of writing in a non-competitive, non-judgmental environment that values the risks and adventure of the creative process. Each day participants attend writing and theatre workshops led by prose writers, poets and theatre artists. Included in the week are mini-workshops taught by program faculty and guest artists. Rooted in the Sarah Lawrence College tradition of one-to-one interaction, the program gives students the opportunity to meet individually with workshop leaders. In addition to workshops, there will be faculty and student readings, film screenings and a celebration of student work on the last day.

- Simon's Rock Summer Writing Workshop
- Based on Bard College's innovative writing program for entering students, this workshop focuses on using informal, playful, expressive writing as a way to strengthen skills of language and thinking. Students have the opportunity to explore various forms of writing, including poetry, story, and essay, as well as engage in various forms of collaborative learning.

- Telluride Association Summer Program
- The Telluride Association awards scholarships to thirty-two bright and motivated high school students for two challenging six-week, college-level seminars in African American studies. TASS students, must prepare for class, and will be expected to write several papers over the summer. Two college undergraduates serve as tutors at each program and live with the students.
Outside the seminar, you'll present a topic of your choice in the weekly public speaking program. Writing workshops, guest lecturers, and volunteer projects round out the summer. To apply for this program, you must be nominated by your Academic Advisor or a school official.
