- Asheville School - Summer Academic Adventures
- An academically challenging summer experience for students entering grades 7-11, providing exciting opportunities for high-achieving students. Appalachian setting provides plenty of opportunities of outdoor activities, including climbing, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. All students live in dorms on the 300-acre campus, with access to state-of-the-art computer labs and other school facilities.

- Children's Museum of Manhattan Summer Volunteer Team
- Join the Summer Squad and spend your summer teaching, creating art, reading stories with kids, and making new friends! Summer Squad is a four to six week volunteer internship in which a team of fifteen students from high schools all over New York City and beyond works alongside museum staff. Summer Squad interns assist lead educators with guided programs for visiting camp groups and provide fun, educational activities for children and families in our interactive exhibits. This program is recommended for current freshman, sophomores and juniors. Applicants must be able to commit a minimum of two days Monday to Friday, for a minimum of one month's service. This summer internship is unpaid. Successful Summer Squad interns are eligible to participate in the Teen Reach and Techteens internship programs.

- Christodora
- Great Mountain Forest Ecology Programs (Norfolk, CT) In this small group based, fourteen day program, students learn basic ecological concepts and field research methods as they explore the forested ecosystem. The program is designed for those students seeking a more in-depth experience in scientific environmental studies. Maintaining the same high standards and dedication to learning as all Christodora programs, our Great Mountain Forest Programs combine safe, fun, and challenging hands on learning experiences in the outdoors.
The Manice Education Center's Leadership Training Program is an intensive 11-day course in a wilderness setting, promoting personal growth and the development of leadership potential through environmental education. We challenge students through a variety of workshops, training sessions and hands-on leadership experiences in one of the sites in northwestern Massachusetts, Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest, or the backcountry waterways of New York's Adirondack Park.

- Residential summer conference designed to empower high school girls through leadership training, career development and personal and professional growth. High achieving students meet and work with leaders to strengthen their skills, define career opportunities and build their self-confidence.

- CSLC - Lead America
- Congressional Student Leadership Conference is a program of Lead America, an in-depth intensive leadership development conference for young leaders who want to challenge themselves to excel and realize their full potential. Lead America's proprietary leadership curriculum is the result of over 25 years of youth development experience and was designed exclusively to meet the needs of today's emerging leaders. Lead America's CSLC programs are college accredited career-focused leadership conferences for high school students. Each focuses on a particular field of study and gives students the opportunity to learn about the subject, meet practitioners in the field, and explore career possibilities.

- Earthwatch Institute
- Earthwatch matches students and adults with research scientists who need volunteer assistance in the field. This is a hands-on program in seven areas of fieldwork: oceans; archaeology; global change; endangered ecosystems; biodiversity; cultural diversity; and world health.

- Environmental Studies Summer Youth Institute
- The Environmental Studies Summer Youth Institute at Hobart and William Smith Colleges provides exceptional opportunities to explore the scientific, social, and humanistic perspectives of environmental issues. The Institute offers a two-week, college-level interdisciplinary program for talented high-school students entering their junior and senior years. The program is designed as an introduction to a variety of environmental issues and perspectives on nature and our environment. Working in the field, in laboratories, in classrooms, and on a four-day camping trip, you will explore a range of topics in environmental policy, economics, and ethics, and come to see the natural world through the eyes of artists, historians, philosophers, and scientists.

- Global Volunteers oversees various service projects throughout the U.S. International projects include construction, forestry work, English instruction, and health care assistance.

- For 25 years Birch Services has worked tirelessly to help disadvantaged individuals live their lives with dignity and joy. Birch provides services for children and adults with mental retardation, autism, severe language deficiencies and emotional disturbance through our schools and through our family camp. We also provide state-of-the-art programs for children affected by abject poverty, malnutrition and homelessness. Many children come from homes with parents struggling with substance abuse, literacy deficits and AIDS. Through our persistence, dedication, and skills all individuals with challenges are given a chance to develop independence, achievement, and self-worth. By volunteering for Birch, you'll make a difference in others' lives, as well as your own. No matter how you lend a hand, you'll be an integral part of a child's future and leave a life-long legacy.

- Kieve-Wavus: Camp Kieve
- Kieve-Wavus educates and empowers young people through our character- building experiential learning model at our camps on Damariscotta Lake, Maine. Utilizing our on-site activities including adventure/ropes course, sailing, archery, arts & crafts and during backpacking & hiking adventures, wilderness river rafting & canoe trips and coastal Maine ocean and sea kayak excursions, we increase self-confidence, raise personal aspirations, and generate enthusiasm for life-long learning. We also provide leadership programs in schools and communities and promote the values of teamwork, kindness, respect, and environmental stewardship.

- Landmark Volunteers
- Landmark is a nonprofit summer service organization for high school students. If you are fourteen and a half years of age or older, entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade and are looking for an opportunity to do something for others, to expand your world through community service, and to give something back to society; you might qualify as a Landmark volunteer. Entering its thirteenth year, the program offers you the opportunity to spend two weeks working at one of several important historical, cultural, environmental or social service institutions.

- National Student Leadership Conference
- No matter which NSLC program you choose you will participate in career-specific leadership workshops and hands-on simulations. Each simulation will build on the skills learned in leadership workshops, draw upon the lessons learned from faculty and guest speakers and integrate the knowledge gained on trips and tours. Each year, a select group of high school leaders attend the NSLC. Representing all 50 states and over 45 countries, NSLC students come from a variety of private and public, national and international schools. Each NSLC program is enhanced by this extraordinary diversity and the free exchange of ideas among some of the world's most promising young leaders.

- READ
- READ pairs elementary students identified as having reading difficulties one-on-one with teen tutors trained to use a research-based reading curriculum. Tutors are most often local high school students or older students from within the same school. They must maintain solid academic records and act as positive role models. Tutors are trained to provide reading instruction and to make reading enjoyable and meaningful for students. One-on-one tutoring takes place in a supervised setting as part of READ's After School, In School and Summer Reading Programs. READ provides for tutor recruitment, training, and compensation. READ monitors individual student progress through its ongoing collection and evaluation of student progress data.

- St. Alban's School for Public Service
- School of Public Service (SPS) is a leadership/mentoring program that begins with an intensive four-week summer academic session held in Washington, DC. Only 30 rising high school seniors are selected to participate in SPS, located at St. Albans School on the grounds of the National Cathedral. SPS admits both male and female students who have already shown a great deal of interest in public service, as well as an ability to positively influence others. While in the program, the students gain experiences designed to heighten not only an interest in public service but also their probability of entering into and succeeding in a career in civic leadership. Students study at the highest level of scholarship, using Harvard and other case studies that are more commonly used at the graduate level. No credit is given to SPS students; rather they are motivated by their interest in public policy and their desire to be contributing members of the group.

- Wave Hill Summer Forestry Program
- Do you like working outdoors' Enjoy science at school' Want to do something for the Bronx community' Interested in college credit... and getting paid? Then maybe the Forest Project is for you! This summer, spend seven rigorous weeks at Wave Hill rehabilitating urban woodlands, and study plant sciences at the Lehman College laboratories in our High School Internship Program. You'll receive a stipend and college credit for successfully completing the program! Completion of 10th grade and two regents level science courses, with a grade of B or better, is required by the end of December.
