Bank Street College Archives Collection


The Bank Street College Archives contains the institutional records of Bank Street College of Education as well as historical materials relating to the College.The collection documents the history and evolution of the College from 1916 to the present. Materials in the collection include official divisional administrative records, faculty and staff papers, audio-visual materials, photographs and artifacts.

Archives Mission Statement
The mission of the Bank Street College of Education Archives is to collect, preserve and make available materials documenting the history and development of the College; including administrative records, faculty and staff papers, and the papers of Bank Street College Alumni and others whose work pertains to the history and development of the institution.

Archives Collection and Acquisitions Policy
The Archives shall collect and maintain selected materials of enduring value that reflect the historical development or mission of the Bank Street College of Education. Final decisions regarding the selection of materials for permanent retention are the responsibility of the Archivist.

Manuscript Collection
The Manuscript Collection at Bank Street currently includes the papers of alumnae Edith Gordon and Lillian Weber.
