Welcome to the 'Planning at Bank Street' Web Site
Over the past academic year Bank Street College will begin a process to identify the critical issues facing the institution and forming an action plan to address those issues. Rather than beginning anew, this planning effort builds on the many planning and accreditation efforts that have taken place over recent years, including:
The Middle States Self-Study Process
The School for Children's Self-Study and Accreditation for the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS)
The Graduate School's Self-Study and Accreditation for the National Council for the Accreditation in Teacher Education (NCATE)
The School for Children's Strategic Plan
The Family Center's Self-Study and Accreditation for the National Association for the Education of Yound Children (NAEYC)
An External Scan prepared by the Board of Trustees' Strategic Planning Committee
Much of the work in the strategic planning process began with a series of meetings open to all adult members of the Bank Street College community -- including parents, graduate students, faculty and staff. Workgroups of faculty, staff and trustees developed actions plans for the first three topics, while the divisions worked as distinct units to appropriiate systems of asessment. The Cabinet took on the issue of assessment.
The results of this work come together in a strategic plan for Bank Street Timeless Values, Timely Actions.
