Recycling at Bank Street

The College is committed to a recycling program that helps conserve our natural resources.
As of April 1, 2004, New York City has made changes to the recycling program as outlined below:
  • Glass bottles and jars; plastic bottles & jugs; beverage cartons & drink boxes, metal & foil
are collected in a BLUE labeled RECYCLING CONTAINER.

  • Mixed paper and cardboard
are collected in a GREEN labeled RECYCLING CONTAINER.

At all our locations, all public spaces will have the above containers strategically placed to assist with the collection of recyclables. As before, private offices will continue to have a regular trashcan and the mixed paper bin available. In the event of confidentiality, documents shall be shredded by the department and disposed in the mixed paper blue bin for pick up by the cleaning company.

Every evening, the Cleaning Company will collect all recyclables materials throughout the College and satellite locations for proper packaging and disposal. They further request that plastic bottles should not be mixed with paper, as they will not separate these items. Sanitation Department will fine the College for such a violation.
