Bank Street offers rich, nurturing, and varied After- School and Extended Day Programs, which is used by approximately one-third of our families. The cost of the program depends on the specific activity as well as the number of times per week a child is enrolled. The program is divided into two cycles: September through February and February through June as well as vacation camp during school vacations depending upon volume of need.
Please refer to the website http://www.bankstreet.edu/sfc/afterschool.html for more specific information.
The philosophy of the Bank Street School for Children is reflected in the summer programs. The child-centered and nurturing camp community is staffed by a large percentage of current Bank Street teachers, Bank Street graduate students and graduates of the School for Children. Many staff members return year after year. Counselors take the time to establish caring relationships with the children and their diverse families to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience.
The Lower Camp (ages 4-8) activities include swimming, movement, woodworking, block building, art, cooking and trips. Lower Campers ages 7 & 8 can participate in our new Science and Visual Arts camps. In the Upper Camp (8-14), children can choose from a variety of course programs including art, drama, sports, science and travel. American Red Cross swim lessons are an integral part of all camp groups.
