Bank Street's mission to improve the education of children and their teachers by applying to the educational process all available knowledge about learning and growth, and by connecting teaching and learning meaningfully to the outside world, requires both financial and intellectual commitment.

While the Bank Street School for Children articulates its values, it also, more importantly, seeks to put them into everyday practice. It intends to do this by improving teacher compensation and development, by providing greater and more flexible financial aid to ensure a diverse community of learners, and by meeting the individual needs of children and families.

Your help is an essential ingredient in the Bank Street School's success in nurturing children and supporting talented teachers. By aiding the School's programs through your annual gift, you can influence the impact of and change through education that can lead to a better world for our children. Your annual gift directly benefits children in the School who are learning how to learn, as well as learning about each other, the community in which they live, and the world around them. In this process, they discover the power of self-expression and inquiry as they become members of a learning community that supports and respects their natural curiosity and individuality.

This educational community is strengthened by the diversity of its faculty and students. Every contribution, regardless of the size, helps Bank Street maintain, practice and articulate its educational values every day in the School for Children. To make a gift to the Bank Street School for Children Annual Fund, click to Contribute Now! or you may call Carla Scheele, Director of Development for Children's Programs, at 212-961-3329, or e-mail her at carlas@bankstreet.edu. Gifts can be made in cash, by check, VISA or Mastercard, or by transferring stock.
