- Enrollment
We enroll approximately 430 boys and girls from age three through fourteen.
- Ages, Grades, and Divisions
Lower School: nursery (3s) through kindergarten (5/6s)
Middle School: first grade (6/7s) through fourth grade (9/10s)
Upper School: fifth grade (10/11s) through eighth grade (13/14s)
- Student/Teacher Ratio
In addition to the head teachers, classroom staff includes specialists, assistant teachers, and student teachers. The student/teacher ratio in the Lower and Middle Schools is 6:1. In the Upper School, it is 8:1.
- Teachers with Master's Degrees
Bank Street teachers are the School's greatest resource. In addition to holding master's degrees, many of the teachers are also adjunct faculty members at the Bank Street College of Education Graduate School.
- Diversity Statistics
Approximately thirty-three percent of Bank Street School For Children students are students of color. Approximately twenty-five percent of our faculty and staff are people of color.
- Financial Aid:
Financial Aid first becomes available in the 4/5s (Prekindergarten) program. Families applying for financial aid complete a separate application form, which they receive after submitting the admissions application. Awards are granted based on demonstrated need. Our Financial Aid Program supports approximately 30% of our student population.

Lower and Middle School
Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Middle School (9/10s) and Upper School
Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
The Nursery program is a half day program from 8:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. with a full day option at the discretion of the Lower School division coordinator.

After-School Program:
Monday - Thursday: 3:10 - 4:30 p.m..
Friday: 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
Extended-Day Program:
Monday - Thursday 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Friday - 2:30 - 6:00 p.m.
- Teams
Upper School students may choose to participate on teams in three sports:
- Soccer in the fall for 10/11s - 13/14s
- Basketball in the winter for 11/12s - 13/14s
- Softball in the spring for 10/11s - 13/14s
- Library
Bank Street's library contains approximately 68,000 circulating materials for children. In addition, the library has an extensive collection of teaching, psychology, curriculum, and sociology materials for adults. The overall collection supports the School For Children (parents and students), Bank Street College graduate students, faculty, and alumnae. Graduates of the School for Children have a lifetime membership. A full-time librarian works with all School for Children students with a library curriculum that begins with the Nursery (3s) and continues through the Eighth Grade (13/14s).
- Summer Camp
Summer Camp offers an extensive program for children ages four through thirteen, and includes art, theater, sports, swimming, and extended-day activities.
- Endowment:
Bank Street School for Children has a small, but growing endowment of approximately $2.4 million. It is invested with all the endowment funds of Bank Street College of Education, which totals $24 million.
- School/ College Connection:
Bank Street College of Education has three main divisions: Children's Programs, the Graduate School, and Continuing Education. The Bank Street School for Children is an independent progressive school within the Division of Children's Programs in the Bank Street College of Education. Children's Programs includes the School for Children, the Family Center, After School Programs, and the Summer Camp. Overall, Bank Street College of Education has three main divisions: Children's Programs, the Graduate School, and Continuing Education.

Bank Street School For Children is located on 112th Street between Broadway and Riverside Drive on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
