Strategic Plan

A plan tells an institution’s story—where it is today and where it is heading. In the words of Bank Street founder Lucy Sprague Mitchell, a plan begins with the familiar, but does not rest there. It gradually moves away from the immediate and looks toward the future.

In today’s competitive and global world, a strategic plan provides both direction and vision. Imagining the future of Bank Street—our Children’s Programs, Graduate School, Education Center, and other programs and initiatives—requires looking back and looking forward.

Three priorities define Bank Street’s ambitions. These priorities include expanding our impact on children, expanding our impact on educators, and strengthening the community. In the years ahead, fresh ideas will come from all corners of our community. Our faculty and staff, students, alumni, trustees, existing partners, and new allies will all play a role.

We are fortunate to have Bank Street when so much work is needed to create learning that lasts.
