Jed Lippard is the Dean of Children’s Programs. In this role, he serves as the head of the School for Children and oversees the Family Center, Bank Street Summer Camp, and After School programming.
Prior to joining Bank Street, Jed spent more than two decades teaching and leading in progressive public charter schools. For six years, he worked alongside Ted and Nancy Sizer as a Founding Humanities Teacher at the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in Devens, MA, and, for the past 14 years, he has served as Head of School and Upper School Principal at Prospect Hill Academy Charter School in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. Above all, Jed identifies as a teacher—deeply invested in the cultivation of intellectual curiosity, the power of civic engagement, and the potential for young people to transform their own and others’ lives.
Jed holds doctoral and master’s degrees from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Brown University. His research focuses on differentiated instructional leadership for adult growth and development in schools.
