Liberty LEADS seeks instructors to facilitate a weekly College Exploration I, II, and III courses on Saturdays for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The College Exploration class is designed to assist high school students in the process of learning about higher education. These introductory courses will expose students to basic collegiate topics such understanding the different types of post-secondary institutions and demystifying the admissions and financial aid processes. College Exploration II and III will build on many of the concepts and topics explored in College Exploration I. Using the foundation established by College Exploration, College Exploration II and III will implore students to better understand the nuances of the college application and selection process as it relates directly to their interests and academic profiles. Students will also start drafting their resumes and college essays.

The Liberty LEADS Program at Bank Street College is an after-school college access and college success program serving students throughout New York City. We offer a comprehensive academic program and a wide range of resources for students in grades 5 through 12, Monday through Saturday, for 11 months of the year. Liberty LEADS works to ensure that youth with few economic resources have access to the supports necessary to realize their potential, make positive contributions to society, and smoothly make the transition into college or an entry-level career. The program is guided by the principle that all children have gifts, talents, and great potential and can contribute to one another's social and academic growth.


● Develop curriculum for groups of 10-12 students
● Execute and modify curriculum according to needs of students
● Manage classroom using positive behavior management strategies
● Meet regularly with the Liberty LEADS High School Advisor for supervision and debriefing


● Experience with high school youth working on the college application process
● Experience with students who wish to pursue another path (job training/workforce)
● Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling or Social Work Preferred
