Position Vacancy – Cashier

Bank Street is seeking to hire a Cashier. The Cashier will be responsible for performing cash and credit transactions, maintaining a beverage station, and performing other kitchen tasks as needed while maintaining high levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and production while performing all related work.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete transactions with students, staff, and guests.
• Set up and maintain beverage and breakfast station throughout the day.
• Brew coffee and tea as needed.
• Assist with serving people during service as needed.
• Refill beverages and utensils during service as needed.
• Maintains professional and friendly manner while dealing with students, staff, and guests.
• Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
• Keeps work station clean and maintains all sanitation standards.
• Cleans and sanitizes station throughout the shift.
• Ensures that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary.
• Handles additional tasks as requested by Chef

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must become familiar with and work with all kitchen equipment and machinery.
• Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Possesses good oral communication skills and able to work with a variety of staff and constituents.
• Adheres to Policy and Procedures.
• Maintains a positive and respectful attitude while working with other team members.
• Communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues as they arise.
• Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management as well as ability to prioritize workload.
• Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position.
• Strong service orientation when interacting with others in and out of the College.
• Meets departmental productivity standards.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
