Home & Community Based Program

The Family Center Home & Community Based Program provides special education and therapeutic services to children with developmental or educational challenges. The program includes four main components:

SEIT Program: Our Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEITs) work with children who require extra support in general education settings to help them become fully integrated into their school programs. Meet the SEITs

Preschool Evaluation Site: We are approved to provide professional, multidisciplinary evaluations for children ages 3 to 5 who are referred through the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). Learn more

Infant-Toddler Parent Playgroups: Our playgroups offer a unique opportunity for children to engage in developmentally appropriate play in the company of their peers and parents. My Grownup & Me! supports parents and toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years, while our Develompental Variations group supports families of young children with special needs. Learn more

Buddies Group: The Bank Street Buddies Group is a social skills group for children ages three to five who need support in the development of social, speech, language, and play skills. By providing children with the safety of a small, familiar group setting and the support of caring educators, children learn to create trusting relationships with their peers so they can generalize their new learned abilities in other contexts, such as school settings or daily life experiences.
