Stories We Tell Ourselves with Michelle Herman
Essayist and novelist Michelle Herman visits to talk about her new book, Stories We Tell Ourselves and the recently reissued The Middle of Everything: Memoirs of Motherhood.
Enjoy a meet & greet with refreshments as Michelle reads from both books, followed by a talk and Q&A. The discussion will revolve around the discoveries of parenthood: the cost of trying to make motherhood a "do-over,"; the perils of "perfection" as a mother (even if you succeed); the way a child reveals herself to her parents and to herself, without intention; and the mysteries and wonders of the connections between children and their parents, grandparents and friends.
