When is Commencement?
Commencement will be held on May 11, 2017.
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. However, graduates will need to arrive at 3:15 p.m.
Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony are emailed mid-March to the College-issued @bankstreet.edu email accounts of students who have submitted a Graduation Application.
Graduation candidates: Please respond to the email you receive regarding attendance to Commencement no later than April 21, 2017 to let us know whether or not you will be attending. Only the names of graduates who have RSVP'd for Commencement will be called at the ceremony.
Please note that only those students who have completed all of their degree requirements including the Integrated Master’s Project are permitted to attend graduation. Degrees for those not attending will be conferred in absentia; diplomas will be mailed provided you have completed your Financial Aid exit interview and have no holds on your account. Please visit http://my.bankstreet.edu to review your account for holds.
Where Will the Commencement Ceremony Be?
The Bank Street College Commencement Ceremony will be held at Riverside Church, on Riverside Drive between 120th and 122nd Streets. There are two entrances to the church: one at 91 Claremont Avenue, which should be used by students and faculty, and one at 490 Riverside Drive which should be used by all guests.
Caps and gowns are an optional form of dress for the ceremony. The company providing this service will supply black caps and gowns, with Bank Street's school colors—royal blue and gold—in the hood. If you decide to wear the academic dress, you will be purchasing a light-weight cap, gown, and master's degree hood.
A Bank Street sash will be provided free of charge to all graduates who wish to wear one.
Details to order cap and gown coming soon.
A catered reception for graduates, guests, and faculty will be held at Riverside Church in the South Hall immediately following the ceremony. We hope you and your family and friends will celebrate with us.
Generally, the ceremony concludes at 6 p.m. and the reception ends at 7:30 p.m.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony on May 11th at Riverside Church for religious reasons, we are pleased to invite you and your family to a special ceremony and reception, to be held at Bank Street College at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017. If you plan to attend the special ceremony, please contact Bettina Tillman in the Registrar's Office, at firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP by Friday, April 21, 2017. Only those students who RSVP will be permitted to attend the special ceremony.
Each graduate will receive a maximum of six tickets. You must RSVP via the event link sent to your college-issued email by April 21, 2017. Only guests with tickets will be admitted to the ceremony. Our ticketing policy is meant to ensure that the Bank Street community can come together as one for Commencement. Therefore, we are unable to grant extra tickets. Additional ticket requests and multiple RSVPs will not be honored.
Note: Infants do not require tickets.
Please check the email account you indicated when you RSVP'd for notification regarding ticket pick-up. Tickets cannot be printed electronically.
