Emotionally Responsive Practice

State-Required Mental Health Trainings

The Center for Emotionally Responsive Practice offers a 4-hour professional development seminar titled Child Mental Health: First Aid for Child Care Providers, which meets New York State Department of Health (DOH) and ASPIRE requirements for the mental health training of early childhood staff working in New York. The training is offered both in-person and virtually.

This seminar can be sponsored by early childhood programs who would like to offer it to their staff members. The fee for the course is $75 per participant, and programs may be eligible for EIP funds if needed.

This training requires at least 25 participants to run. Smaller programs may consider partnering with other small programs to sponsor the training.

If you would like to learn more or if you are interested in sponsoring Child Mental Health: First Aid for Child Care Providers for your school community, please send an email to erp@bankstreet.edu indicating your interest, how many of your staff would be participating, and the month that you would like to sponsor the training. We will follow up with you to discuss details and schedule the training.
