Sustainable Funding Project at Bank Street College

The Sustainable Funding Project (SFP), launched by Bank Street’s Division of Innovation, Policy and Research, was established to address a significant problem in public education: how to ensure all aspiring teachers matriculate through affordable, high quality programs so that every teacher enters the profession prepared for the demands of 21st century classrooms.

As part of its history, Bank Street has been deeply committed to changes in key policies that have strong promise for improving education. This commitment, coupled with the new administration's expertise in the public school realm, has helped the College identify sustainable funding for quality teacher preparation as a major challenge worthy of our focused attention.

Bank Street's experience in teacher preparation, professional development, and school reform, make us well-positioned to develop a new funding framework in alliance with colleagues across the nation.
