Social Studies Integrated Art Curriculum

An Introduction to Integrated Art

Integrated Art takes place once per week in each Middle School classroom. Integrated art lessons may be taught and/or implemented to the whole group or in half or quarter groupings depending on the nature of the materials and earning activities. The integration of art into social studies, language arts, math, and science curricula helps children make personal connections to their classroom studies and expands and deepens their learning.

During the Integrated Art period, children may use materials to explore a theme or concept in greater depth, or to investigate and appreciate the arts and crafts of the culture they are studying.
