“Developing a multi-arts curriculum allows me to follow the children’s own expressive interest while also using the artistic process as an integral part of the identification and expansion of their knowledge in the different areas. This methods goes beyond the use of art as an enhancement or enrichment of an already established curriculum and places the arts as central to the completion of the curricular process. For both teacher and child the arts offers an expanded notion of classroom discourse that is not solely grounded in linear, objective language and thinking, but rather recognizes the full range of human potential for expression and understanding.”
