Welcome!

Bank Street Summer Camp reflects the philosophy of the  Bank Street School for Children We are a child-centered, nurturing community and a large percentage of the staff are current Bank Street teachers, graduate students and graduates of the School for Children. Many of them come back every year and take the time to establish caring relationships with the children and their diverse families in order to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience.

We have gone beyond the standards of the traditional camp venue by offering focussed groups on Shakespeare, Spanish Immersion, Mandarin, Science and Art to name a few. We have also entered into numerous collaborations with major NY museums. Currently we are working with NY Hall of Science, Met, Natural History Museum, China School and Rubin Museum. The newest collaboration, with the Hunts Point Alliance for Children will focus on making our campers and staff more well rounded.

The Lower Camp (ages 4-8) activities include swimming, movement, woodworking, block building, art, cooking and trips. Lower Campers ages 7 & 8 can participate in our new Science and Visual Arts camps.

In the Upper Camp (8-14), children can choose from a variety of course programs including art, drama, sports, science and travel. American Red Cross swim lessons are an integral part of all camp groups.
