School for Children and Family Center Host Annual Benefit

On March 6, the School for Children and Family Center hosted the Bank Street Benefit at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The annual event brings community members together to connect, celebrate the school year, and raise financial support for the school. This year, activities included a silent auction to raise funds for important school programs, a wine pull, a photo booth, a DJ, and a video presentation showcasing how Bank Street’s integrated music curriculum supports students’ development, cultural knowledge, and confidence while building a sense of community.

School for Children parent Ian Kahn was the event’s auctioneer, raising over $40,000 for music education at the school. To the delight of parents and teachers, the evening culminated in a surprise performance by the school’s Rock Band. The group played two songs: “The Weight” by The Band and “Imagine” by John Lennon.
