Suleyni Abreu

Deputy Chief Operating Officer

Suleyni Abreu is the Deputy Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she manages Bank Street’s facilities and kitchen. Suleyni is also responsible for managing cross-divisional workflows and supporting the implementation of the 2015 Strategic Plan.

Before joining Bank Street, Suleyni worked for seven years and held various roles at the New York City Department of Education, including Chief of Staff and Senior Managing Director in the Division of School Support and Instruction. In those roles, she managed a wide range of cross divisional initiatives, developed the Citywide School Calendar, worked in partnership with the United Federation of Teachers to manage the citywide Clustering of Social Workers and Psychologist (special education initiatives), and led the summer school process.

She holds a master’s degree in educational administration and policy studies from the University at Albany and an undergraduate degree from SUNY New Paltz. She has two sons and a daughter and has deep interest in traveling and fitness.
