Webinar: Cultivating Powerful Mentorship in Educator Credential Programs

Description:
Join Bank Street for a special webinar on the release of Learning Starts At Birth‘s newest publication, Cultivating Powerful Mentorship in Educator Credential Programs.

Reflective practice is at the core of Bank Street’s approach to teacher preparation, enabling educators to connect theory to practice. Bank Street Graduate School of Education’s residency programs embed reflective practice through fieldwork advisement and mentoring. This new publication explores Bank Street’s approach to mentorship and lessons learned through its implementation in Graduate School programs and includes an interview with three members of the Graduate School, who will join the webinar as panelists:

  • Valentine Burr, Chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning
  • Jessica Wontropski, D13 Residency Program Administrator and Director of General and Special Education Programs
  • Cristian Solorza, Director of TESOL and Bilingual/Dual Language Programs

Panelists will discuss their experiences designing and leading residency programs for educators and share more about Bank Street’s approach to training and supporting mentors. Policymakers and practitioners from early childhood and K-12 settings will learn ideas for how to design and implement mentorship programs, particularly in the context of credential and degree programs.
