Ana Tiburcio, LMSW, Director
Ana received her Master's degree in social work from Hunter College and is a Licensed Social Worker. For more than ten years, in various roles, Ana's career has centered on the work of Liberty LEADS. As once an instructor and program developer, she exhibits an unwavering passion and expertise that guides the continued success of Liberty LEADS. Prior to joining Bank Street she worked with children in foster care.

Mitchel Balcacer, Middle School Advisor
Mitchel attended Fairleigh Dickenson University and then received his Master's in Adolescent Education/Students with Disabilities from St. John's University. During his graduate studies, he successfully taught Social Studies and College Preparatory at the high school level. Furthermore, Mitchel worked with middle school students and teachers. He was awarded the 2016 St. John's University Students with Disabilities Award.
Daris Adderley-Stanton, MSW, MSEd, High School Advisor
Daris received his Master’s degree in Social Work as well as a Master’s of Educational Leadership and Administration. Prior to working at Liberty LEADS, Daris worked as a NYC school social worker and facilitated leadership development programming though NYC youth serving organizations. He brings to our program experience developing fitness and life skills programming as well as group building curricula. Daris is particularly interested in using adventure therapy to build the social and emotional learning capacities of the young people we serve.
Karla Ruiz, High School Advisor
Karla attended the University of California, Davis as a pre-med student and completed a master's program in International Educational Development, focusing on the experiences and stories of first-generation Latinas/os in education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Karla has also worked with high school youth in academic intervention.
Natalia Fernandez, College Success Advisor
Natalia attended Manhattanville College and received her undergraduate degree in Communications and Political Science. Before joining the Liberty team, Natalia focused on areas in higher education including student affairs, advising, and admissions. Her specialties include leadership development (both individual and group), advising, self-awareness development, relationship management, strategic planning, assessment, public speaking, and collaboration.
Vanessa Soriano, MSW, Social Worker
Vanessa received her Masters of Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles and a B.A in Sociology from UCLA. Prior to moving to New York from California, Vanessa worked for non-profit agencies that served children/families involved with the foster care system, youth involved in the juvenile justice system and adult women on parole. Working at a high school South Los Angeles, Vanessa realized her two passions that would influence her professional decisions; her belief in supporting young people towards higher education and assisting those who struggle with mental health issues.
Jennifer Balinas, Administrative Assistant
Jennifer graduated from Lehman College with a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology. She has worked in various capacities with youth serving organizations as well as customer service. She brings a strong commitment to the work and an enthusiasm for working with the families we serve.
Marisol Borrero Saks, Operations Manager
Before joining the Liberty team, Marisol worked for over thirty years at the New York Public Library (NYPL). During her time there, Marisol understood the importance of connecting with the library branches and so made it a point to visit in order to get a better sense of the needs. While with the NYPL, Marisol applied for grants and submitted reports to agencies and corporations. She received a BA from the City University of New York Brooklyn College.
