Daris Adderley-Stanton, MSW, MSEd, High School Advisor

Daris received his Master’s degree in Social Work as well as a Master’s of Educational Leadership and Administration. Prior to working at Liberty LEADS, Daris worked as a NYC school social worker and facilitated leadership development programming though NYC youth serving organizations. He brings to our program experience developing fitness and life skills programming as well as group building curricula. Daris is particularly interested in using adventure therapy to build the social and emotional learning capacities of the young people we serve.

Jennifer Balinas, Administrative Assistant

Jennifer graduated from Lehman College with a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology. She has worked in various capacities with youth serving organizations as well as customer service. She brings a strong commitment to the work and an enthusiasm for working with the families we serve.

Kara Knott, LMSW, Assistant Director

Kara is a licensed social worker who received her Master’s degree in social work from Hunter College. Over the past 18 years, Kara has worked in a variety of capacities in non-profit and youth serving organizations in New York and Chicago. Kara’s experience, whether through direct service or as a consultant and supervisor, has focused primarily on addressing the complex social, emotional and systemic challenges facing young people and their families.

Alyssa Lyons, High School Advisor

Alyssa received her Master's degree in Politics and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to working with Liberty LEADS, Alyssa worked as an instructor, tutor, and curriculum developer for an educational opportunity program for low-income youth at the City University of New York (CUNY). Alyssa is currently a doctoral student in the CUNY Graduate Center’s Sociology department, and is interested in the role educators play in expanding access and opportunity to marginalized students.

Anjoli Rodriguez, MS.Ed, Middle School Advisor

Anjoli is a NY State licensed Students with Disabilities grades 7-12 teacher and is a New York Teaching Fellow (NYTF) Alumnus. She received her Master’s in Education from CUNY City College. Prior to joining Liberty LEADS, Anjoli started her journey as a freelance teaching artist in Philadelphia and later, through NYTF, taught for two years in the South Bronx as a special education and arts teacher for 6th-12th grades. Anjoli works closely with our middle school teachers to develop and refine their curricula and practice to ensure that students are not only honing skills but developing a zest for inquiry and learning.

Vanessa Soriano, MSW, Social Worker

Vanessa received her Masters of Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles and a B.A in Sociology from UCLA. Prior to moving to New York from California, Vanessa worked for non-profit agencies that served children/families involved with the foster care system, youth involved in the juvenile justice system and adult women on parole. Working at a high school South Los Angeles, Vanessa realized her two passions that would influence her professional decisions; her belief in supporting young people towards higher education and assisting those who struggle with mental health issues.

Ana Tiburcio, LMSW, Director

Ana received her Master's degree in social work from Hunter College and is a Licensed Social Worker. For more than ten years, in various roles, Ana's career has centered on the work of Liberty LEADS. As once an instructor and program developer, she exhibits an unwavering passion and expertise that guides the continued success of Liberty LEADS. Prior to joining Bank Street she worked with children in foster care.
