Library Salon Gathers Alumni to Discuss Progressive Practice in the Field

GSE Alumni Steve Evangelista, Jessica Dadigan, Elizabeth Gordon Rosenfeld, Davia Franklyn, and Medard Thomas.

On Friday, January 29, the Bank Street Library hosted the “Progressive Practice in the Field” Library Salon featuring a panel discussion with five accomplished Graduate School of Education alumni. The graduates, who practice in a range of settings, shared anecdotes from their journeys as educators and discussed the challenges and triumphs encountered while employing progressive values in their respective fields.

After the presentations, the faculty, alumni, and students who attended the salon broke into small discussion groups, each led by one of the presenters. The following alumni shared their experiences from the field with guests: Jessica Dadigan, GSE ’12; Steve Evangelista, GSE ’01; Davia Franklyn, GSE ’97; Elizabeth Gordon Rosenfeld, GSE ’12; and Medard Thomas, GSE ‘96.

Library Salons are a series of informal lectures and group discussions held after hours on Friday evenings.
