Javier Persad

Javier Persad is the manager of institutional giving in the Development and Alumni Relations Office. Prior to Bank Street, Javier worked at a national policy and advocacy organization whose mission is grounded in elevating teachers’ voices in the policies that matter most to them and their students. Javier previously spent 11 years teaching high school literature, the majority of which were spent serving the students of Jersey City, NJ, where he grew up. He also spent two years teaching abroad in Ecuador at an American school in the capital city of Quito. Javier graduated with a BA in English and an MEd from Rutgers University and also completed his certification for school leadership in the state of New Jersey.
