Bank Street Hosts Book Launch for ‘Teaching Kindergarten’

On December 1, President Shael Polakow-Suransky and Graduate School Dean Cecelia Traugh joined more than a hundred alumni, faculty, and friends to celebrate the launch of the new book Teaching Kindergarten: Learner-Centered Classrooms for the 21st Century.

Published by Teacher’s College Press, the book was edited by Bank Street alumni Julie Diamond ‘73, Betsy Grob ’72 and ’98, and Fretta Reitzes ’69 and includes chapters written by progressive practitioners Hollee Freeman ’94, Margaret Blachly ’05, Rebecca Burdett ’99, and Andrea Fonseca ’03.
