Support CCRE at Bank Street

Every child has the right to feel safe in school.

In a recent survey of teachers, 8 in 10 report heightened anxiety on the part of marginalized students, and 4 in 10 have heard derogatory language directed at students of color, Muslims, immigrants, and people based on gender or sexual orientation.

Bank Street stands committed to social justice, educational opportunity, and producing teachers—and children—that are advocates for a better society. We believe that education is the cornerstone of a just society.

Our graduate school teaches teachers how to create safe environments for all children. Our Center on Culture, Race and Equity works with all educators, leaders, and families to tackle the assumptions that we make that can be so damaging to young children. CCRE focuses on the issues of race, equity, and access to shift adult mindsets and transform the work educators do with children and their families. This is the kind of work we need across this country.

Now, more than ever, we need your support.
