Visitors FAQ

COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Library is open to:

  • Graduate School students, and faculty
  • School for Children students, and faculty,
  • and a small number of visitors.

All visitors will need to show proof of vaccination, complete the symptom screening questionnaire, and follow all health and safety guidelines. Visitors may show one of the following:

  • New York Excelsior Pass,
  • New York City’s COVID Safe App,
  • CDC vaccination card,
  • NYC vaccination record, or other official immunization record from outside New York.

Visitors will be required to wear masks. Before visiting the Library, check the Library’s Google Calendar or call 212-875-4456.


  • New York Metropolitan Area Visitors

    Before your visit, ask for a Metro Referral Card from your college or local public library or consider becoming a Library Associate Member.

  • Visitors from Outside the New York Metropolitan Area

    Students from colleges outside the New York metropolitan area are admitted upon presentation of a valid form of school identification. Other visitors should call 212-875-4456 for an appointment. Everyone must show identification upon entry to the building.

  • Library Associate Membership

    If you would like to use the Library on a more extended basis, consider buying a Library Associate’s Card or ask about group membership for nonprofits. A Library Associates card costs $75.00 for four months and includes borrowing privileges but is ineligible for free interlibrary loan. Library Associates should notify the Library of any accompanying guests.
