Welcome to Bank Street Head Start

Since 1965, Head Start has provided children of low-income families with a comprehensive program to meet their emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs. This widely acclaimed program is designed to help break the cycle of poverty for preschool children and their families. Head Start serves families in urban and rural areas of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories.

Operated by Bank Street College of Education Division of Continuing Education, Bank Street Head Start's mission is to empower and educate low-income families and their children through comprehensive, high quality services. We build long-term relationships and provide a range of individualized support in the areas of early childhood education, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition and social services.
