One Chicken Nugget
Author & Illustrator: Tadgh Bentley

Animated mix-media illustrations strut along with Celeste who cooks up a scheme to rid herself of a monster whose insatiable appetite for her nuggets threatens her business. Author’s note.

  • one-chicken-nugget-thumb YR Feb 24This book is about how a monster likes chicken nuggets so much that he said he can eat 4 million chicken nuggets! The chicken nuggets kept doubling and doubling and doubling and doubling until day 30 of the contest. I like this book because it is funny and silly.
  • I like this book because it went from 1 to 2 to 4 to 8 to 16 to 32 to 64 to 128 and until it was the 30th day. The last day was hard!
  • I like this book because it is interesting and it is imaginary.
  • I thought it was funny that a monster named Frank tries to eat chicken nuggets. I would have gotten out on day 4 with 8 nuggets! The illustrations are funny and help us to see all of the crazy things that Frank does. We can even see how he feels.
  • I like this book because it is very funny, because of the competition, and because it has math. I could do the math up until day 14! It gets very hard. I like that it had math.
  • I really like the pictures. They show all the ways that Celeste tries to get away from Frank. But Frank gets away every time.
