Akilah Rosado is the Vice President for Governance and Community Engagement. In this role, she provides ongoing support to the Bank Street College Board of Trustees by overseeing governance and compliance work; community engagement; providing leadership and support for components of the Strategic Plan relative to strengthening the Bank Street community.
Before joining Bank Street in 2009, Akilah was employed at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in the Government & Community Relations division and spent 10 years working in the New York State Assembly serving as Chief of Staff and Director of Constituent Affairs. Akilah has also served as a strategist and spokesperson on political campaigns; a management consultant and leadership coach for the Public Strategies Group; and as an adjunct professor for Hudson Valley Community College teaching leadership development and organizational behavior with an emphasis on social/emotional intelligence.
Akilah holds a Master's of Science in Urban Policy and Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at the New School and did her undergraduate work at Chatham College and SUNY Purchase. She is mom to Dalila McQueen (14 years old) and step-mom to Taylor Ebron-McQueen (21 years old).
