Joining Bank Street in 2009, Akilah Rosado serves as the Vice President for Governance and Community Engagement. In this role, Akilah serves as a liaison to various groups in the College, the Administration, and the Board of Trustees. Akilah’s work focuses on governance and diversity related to the College’s strategic plan. Akilah also oversees the Government Relations efforts of the College and serves as Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
Prior to joining Bank Street, Akilah was employed at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in the Government & Community Relations division where she helped to build consensus and support for development projects in Brooklyn. Additionally, Akilah has served in various capacities for a number of elected officials in the New York State Assembly.
Akilah has also served as a management consultant and leadership coach for the Public Strategies Group; and as an adjunct professor teaching leadership development and organizational behavior with an emphasis on social/emotional intelligence.
Akilah holds a Masters of Science in Urban Policy and Management from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at the New School. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from SUNY at Purchase College.
